Business meetings and contract negotiations can be difficult enough even when both parties speak the same mother tongue. This is all the more true when conducted in a foreign language and under conditions typical of another country or culture. English, as a world language, is of course helpful, but in many cases – mainly in Latin America – only represents a compromise solution.
